USA Ambassador Evelyn Takes on The Today Show

Author Hi everyone, this is Evelyn, reporting in from the East Coast of the United States.
On Saturday, February 19, my mom told me that I had a great opportunity connected to World Math Day: a chance to be on the Today show with other USA Ambassadors. After a lot of thought, I decided to go to the show.
On Monday, my mom and I took a train into New York City. We stayed overnight in the city. On Tuesday we went to the offices of 3P Learning, the company that runs Mathletics.
There I met Kelvin and AJ, other USA ambassadors that would be going on the Today show with me. I also met Joe Stassi, Alexander Dalrymple, and Peter Walters, the CEO of 3P Learning.
We took taxis to Rockefeller Center, where the show was filmed. We stayed in the “Green Room” until it was our turn to go on the air. Here we met Scott Flansburg, the Human Calculator.
Scott started off the segment with doing a trick with which he won a world record: adding a two digit number to itself faster than a calculator. After that Kevin, AJ, and I went head to head against the hosts, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, in a math challenge. It was really close until the last question. Kevin answered quickly and correctly, and we won.
Overall it was an amazing experience that I will never forget.
