Meet Australian Ambassador Thadu
Gday Im Thadu, and I’m an Ambassador from Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. There have been heaps of great, interesting blogs which I’ve been reading from all over the world, its been wonderful to see everyone so enthused about maths!
Down here at my school it seems my friends have been doing a better job of promoting World Maths Day than I have! They even started a facebook group about it which gathered 150 members in about a week, and many people asked me questions about it. As well as that they have been putting posters up all around the school and everyone seems to be aware of it now which is a great thing, and its also been spread to other schools in Launceston!
My initial hype for World Maths Day began a few days ago when all 8 of us ambassadors met at a launch day in Sydney, and discussed ways in which we could promote the event. We got to meet Leisel Jones who is a fantastic speaker and was inspiration to us and I’m sure everyone else present. We were presented with our engraved iPod touches which is really cool as we can play World Maths Day on them using an app designed by the Mathletics team. So I’ll be able to sit in maccas while doing maths, which is amazing!
The other Australian ambassadors are an amazing bunch of people and all great mathletes and I’m sure as a team we’ve done a great job of spreading the word about World Maths Day.
Just remember to have a great time enjoying the day guys, and to represent this country as best you can!

thnky dude !
